Support & FAQs
Running into something in Centora 3.0? The answers below cover the usual stuff — friends, contact invites, notifications, permissions, fairness, and the new arrive-by flow. If you're still stuck, we're one email away.
What makes Centora "fair"?
Centora searches near the group's geographic midpoint and ranks venues against a per-user travel budget. When the Google Routes matrix is available, ranking uses real driving time; otherwise it falls back to distance — so one person is much less likely to get stuck with the worst trip.
How do I add people to a meetup?
Pick accepted friends by their latest shared location, choose someone from your phone contacts, invite by email, share a tracked invite link through your phone's share sheet, or type a manual address for people who aren't on Centora yet. You can also quick-add more participants directly from the results screen without restarting the plan.
How do I send, accept, or remove a friend request?
Open the Friends screen. You can invite by email, find a person from contacts, or create a tracked invite link to share through Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, or another app from your phone's share sheet. When someone uses the link after signup or sign-in, Centora connects them back to you as a pending friend request.
Does Centora upload my full address book?
No. Centora asks for contact access only when you choose to find friends from contacts. The full address book stays on your device; Centora only sends or stores selected invite attempts.
Can Centora text my contacts directly?
No. Direct SMS sending from Centora is not shipped. You can create an invite link and share it through your phone's share sheet, including Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, and other apps.
How do I turn push notifications on or off?
Open Settings → Notifications. Toggle categories per device; enabling a category will prompt for the OS notification permission if we don't have it yet. Today we only send friend-request pushes — more categories (like meetup invites) are coming.
Does Centora live-track friends?
No. Friend-based planning uses location snapshots people have explicitly shared. Snapshots are protected by Supabase row-level security and auto-expire. Centora doesn't use background location.
Are the map lines turn-by-turn routes?
No — the curved lines are a visual guide toward the midpoint, generated locally. Tap "Open in Maps" to hand off to Apple Maps or Google Maps for real navigation.
When does Centora use my location?
Only while the app is in use: during the "You" step of the wizard, when you tap to update your shared snapshot for a meetup, and when the results map centers around the group. We never run location in the background.
How do I update my profile photo or bio?
Settings → Profile lets you change your display name, bio, and avatar. Photos are uploaded to our Supabase Storage bucket with per-user access policies — only people you're connected with can see them.
How do I delete my account and data?
See the account and data deletion guide. Email us from your registered address and we'll confirm within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support@getcentora.com with the device (iOS / Android / web), app version, and a short description. Or submit the
Centora feedback form.
